The main section of Neuspeed’s cam gear is hard anodized 7075 T6 aluminum. The hub is 6061 T6 aluminum with locking stainless steel threaded inserts. Adjustment marks are laser engraved with up to 7 degrees of advance/retard.

Aftermarket cam gears let you adjust the power band of your engine to make the most of a camshaft upgrade. Advancing or retarding the cam timing will shift the power band up or down in the rev range. Advance to move the power down lower (low end), retard to move the power up higher (top end).

One Review of Neuspeed Adjustable Cam Gear (8v)

This is a very good part, although more expensive than other tuner shops’ adjustable gears. Adjustability is 8* retard/advance by use of 4 allen key bolts. This is important as they will not strip out with the use of the proper size allen key. Has timing marks for both Mk2 and Mk3 timing references. Installation is as simple as removing the nut holding the stock gear to the camshaft snout and loosening the timing belt enough to install the gear. I’ve used this gear for 6+ years with not a single issue.
