INSTALL
If you have basic wiring skills, the gauge is very easy to put in. I ordered Gauge Solution #14, which is the backlit VDO 0-80 PSI Oil Pressure Gauge, 42DD gauge ring and all applicable wiring and senders. The hardest part of the entire install is cutting where the heated seat switched/blank goes, because this is where the gauge is installed. If you have a Dremel or cutting tool, it takes no time at all, you just have to be careful and it takes some trial and error fitting wise. Running the wires was easy, and to get power to the gauge, tap the dimmer feed on the headlight switch for the ability to dim the backlight too. The sender (for a 2.0) goes right on top of the oil filter housing in the engine, which comes out with a 5mm allen. If you have a VR6, the installation in the engine bay is a little different, but not complicated. VR’s also need a 0-120 PSI gauge.

PERFORMANCE
I like the gauge a lot. It has a very clean install and looks factory when done. The plastic of the 42DD piece exactly matches the Mk3 interior. Also, it's a nice piece to have on older cars to keep an eye on important information.

My only nag is that it is slightly blocked by the steering wheel. However, because of this, it does not bother me during night driving. So really, it’s not that big of an issue to look to the side for a second or two to see it.

RECOMMENDATIONS
I would highly recommend this piece. It looks very clean in the interior and it a nice way to keep tabs on what’s going on in the engine bay. Fairly simple install and a very good price. 42DD was very easy to deal with and order from.
