International Success - Part 1

Posted on 17 October 2007

Last Friday I got word from Dimitri that my package had finally arrived in Antwerp, Belgium. It ended up taking about 8 business days to get there plus another 5-6 before he could get it released. I ended up having to fax over a letter stating the contents of the box (which cost $6 to send, all for a few bytes of information over the phone line) due to the value of the package. Then Dimitri spent time just waiting for the shipping company to process the package through their system before he was finally able to pick it up.

From Dimitri via email:

it was about 23.30pm yesterday that my bumperswap was ready. Now my wife’s happy and me too :D

Here are some photos he sent me of all the parts. He ended up getting:

  • NA front bumper
  • NA turn signals and dummy lenses
  • NA front lip
  • Hella smoked sidemarkers
  • NA passenger side mirror
  • NA rear plate holder

Here’s a shot of Dimitri and the bumper he’ll be sending me:
(notice the textured top, no sidemarkers, euro plate recess and only four center fins)

This process has taken a long time (and its not over yet, I still need my bumper), but I think it’s been entirely worth it. It’s fun helping other enthusiasts across the globe and influencing how they are able to enjoy their cars.
