I’m back! The wife and I plus about 8-9 other Projekt German cars went up to CVO’s Treffen 2007 event this weekend in Des Plaines, IL. It was about a 5 hour drive each way with our adventure beginning on Friday afternoon and ending late tonight. Everyone had a blast, even though is poured on us most of today.
Treffen is a two day event organized by the Chicago Volkswagen Organization (CVO) that consists of an autocross, drag racing and a car show. Unfortunately, due to the weather, the autocross was cut a bit short and the drag racing was cancelled alltogether. However, a little bit (more like a lot) of rain did nothing to stop Volkswagen enthusiasts from around the Midwest from showing their cars on Sunday and still bringing in a good number of spectators. I got some great pictures of cars at the show. Here are some of my favorites:
Green Mk1 with color-matched BBS RS wheels
Windsor Blue Mk3 with BBM supercharger kit
Treffen was a huge success in my eyes and probably would have been even better without all the rain. I want to thank CVO for putting on the show and all of the enthusiasts for building such awesome cars. I can’t wait til next year!
