Spendy Wheels Out, Budget Wheels In

Posted on 27 June 2007

I’ve been looking at wheels for the Mk3 for a long time and right now I think it’s best that I table the idea. I would love to get some killer looking wheels, but they just aren’t in my budget right now. Plus, I have several other things I’d rather spend the money on right now. I still need to do my Corrado front brake upgrade, replace my exhaust, strut tower bars, TT pedals, etc.

Since I do need larger wheels to run my upgraded brakes and the current tires on my Orlandos are seriously suffering, I have opted to look at some lower priced wheels. There’s a guy in town with some 15″ TSW Stealth wheels for sale that I am going to check out tonight. They are in fair condition with decent tires and he isn’t asking much. They would fit my needs in terms of brake clearance (I need a 15″ wheel or larger) and I know they’ll fit since they are coming off of another Mk3 Jetta.

Here is a photochop of my car with TSW Stealth wheels:

I’ll be test fitting the wheels tonight and then scraping together everything I’ve got to see if I can buy them.
