Well, I officially have zero patience and restraint when it comes to cars. My cup kit and bushings showed up yesterday after ordering everything on Monday and I just couldn’t wait to install them. Stef and I went out to the garage around 10pm and finished everything up about 1:30am. Not too bad for my first suspension job on a VW. Gary’s tools really made the install easy.
- Thanks to Gary for giving me his spare top spring hats and letting me borrow his floor jack and impact wrench.
- Thanks to Sam for renting those spring compressors and leaving them at Gary’s house. I ended up using those as well, lol.
Assembled FK strut, German colors!

Spring hat from Gary (I put one on upside down and spent at least 20-30 minutes fiddling with it afterwards to fix it.)

Tightening down the lower mounting bolts.

Reattaching the bracket for the brake line.

I love the new suspension. It looks awesome and rides even better. Big thanks to FK for building such a quality product and to AMI Motorsports for getting it to my doorstep.

Mate, it’s looking great! Must be a relief that you had hardly any troubles at all. I was excited to see mine in the mail but to start work at 10pm, you must’ve been restless until you saw it on the car!
So what’s next?
